about julia

Julia Gomelsky spent more than a decade working as a web designer in San Francisco and Los Angeles at companies such as Yahoo and Citysearch. Taking a leap of faith, she left her day job behind in spring 2013 to pursue her creative projects full time. She always had a knack for clever illustrations, particularly for drawing loony animals with strange habits—a specialty that grew into a t-shirt and greeting card line called My Pet Croc. Next, Julia tried her hand at drawing people. Her first effort was a book she illustrated about the life and loves of her twin sister, Victoria. After receiving much praise and encouragement, she launched Drawn for You.

In addition to illustrating, Julia spends her free time photographing two fun-loving dolls named Paige and Ginger, experimenting with mixed media (primarily paper mache on canvas) and pursuing an assortment of creative projects that collectively fall under the Vijous label (the name is a combination of her and her twin’s names).
